Now there is no official end to the workday. And we’ve seen that colleague who seems to look like she just arrived from restful day with a new We move from a morning breakfast or Skype call, transition to a home or traditional office and often have to make the evening transition of desk to dinner.
There are some simple tips that I call the Three C’s of after five business attire that will keep you looking polished and professional.
C is for Cut. If you know you have a dinner meeting select a dress in a great cut. Think chic with a simple silhouette like sheath dress and don’t be afraid to wear something a bit more form fitting paired with a blazer for day that can be removed for dinner after the sun’s sets. If you opt for black opt for oversized jewelry to give your look some evening sparkle and shine.
C for Chic, Contemporary Combinations. Don’t be afraid to combine a foundational piece like a classic white blouse with a more edgy contemporary piece such as leather pencil skirt or ballroom skirts for a more formal evening event.
C is for color. Elect classic pieces such as a suit or business dress in an eye-popping color. The color will stand out and make you and your style memorable in the midst of a sea of black.
Don’t let your personal style dim after dark. With a little planning you can continue your goal of world domination and look so good doing it.
